Job summary

The City of Idaho Falls Power Department is seeking a Systems Electrical Engineer to help design, operate, and upgrade the city’s electric system, including substations, transmission, distribution, and fiber. You will manage projects, develop CIP projections, and ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, FERC, NERC, EPA.

This role requires a Bachelor's in electrical engineering, at least four years in utility electrical systems, and an Idaho PE license or reciprocal within six months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• Minimum four (4) years relevant utility electrical systems and power generation experience.
• Idaho Professional Engineer license or license in another state with ability to obtain Idaho license by reciprocity within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Develop CIP ten-year projections and coordinate with department heads.
• Lead design, construction oversight, and project management for substations, transmission, and distribution projects.
