Job summary

Kleinfelder, a leading engineering firm, is seeking a full-time Civil/Municipal Engineer to serve local communities on civil, municipal, and environmental projects. You will collaborate with CAD Technicians, Construction Observers, Land Survey Chiefs, and office staff to deliver integrated solutions.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Civil or Environmental Engineering, 10 years of design experience, and an Iowa PE license or plan to obtain within a year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering required.
• Minimum 10 years of civil engineering design experience preferred.
• Iowa PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year preferred.
• Experience with roadway, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water distribution design desired.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Prepare or modify plans, specifications, construction schedules, permits, and cost estimates for public works.
• Work with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all facets of construction.
• Assist Project Manager in completing project within budget and on schedule.
• Client contact including attendance at board or council meetings.
