Job summary

Kleinfelder Inc. is seeking a Civil/Municipal Engineer to serve local communities on civil, municipal, and environmental projects. The position collaborates with CAD Technicians, Construction Observers, and staff in multiple capacities.

Required is a bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, with Iowa PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year preferred, plus 10 years of civil engineering design experience desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering required.
• Iowa PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year preferred.
• Experience with roadway, storm sewer, sanitary collection sewers and water distribution design desired.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Prepare or modify plans, specifications, construction schedules, permits, and cost estimates for public works projects.
• Work with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all facets of construction.
• Assist Project Manager in completing project within budget and on schedule.
• Client contact including attendance at board or council meetings.
