Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is seeking an Operations Manager to provide day-to-day leadership across multimodal transportation, warehousing, and contract logistics. You will translate site objectives into disciplined execution through Supervisors and frontline teams, focusing on service delivery, safety, and productivity.

The role emphasizes workforce management, cost control, and meeting customer commitments, with cross-functional collaboration to elevate performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field preferred; HS diploma required.
• 5+ years in transportation, supply chain, or contract logistics.
• Experience leading Supervisors or multi-level teams in high-volume ops.
• Strong experience using dashboards, KPIs, and metrics to drive results.
• Proficiency with WMS/TMS/ERP and data tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations across assigned areas and shifts to ensure service commitments.
• Drive disciplined execution aligned with customer requirements and site objectives.
• Serve as escalation point for service, quality, throughput, and routing issues.
• Enforce standard work, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Own KPIs for safety, quality, delivery, service, cost, and productivity.
