Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead day-to-day multimodal transportation and logistics activities in a fast-paced setting. You will supervise frontline associates, drive safety, quality, and service performance, and coordinate workload to meet targets across the operation.

The role requires 3+ years in warehouse/logistics leadership, forklift certification, and strong knowledge of WMS/TMS/ERP systems, with an emphasis on continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Education: HS diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred in SCM, business, logistics or related field.
• Forklift certification required/able to obtain before operating equipment.
• 3+ years in warehouse/distribution or related operations with supervisory or team-lead experience.
• Ability to lead and supervise frontline teams in fast-paced environments.
• English communication skills (verbal and written).
• Experience with WMS/TMS/ERP and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operational activities across logistics workflows.
• Coordinate and prioritize work to meet safety, quality and productivity targets.
• Ensure safe, accurate handling and dispatch of inventory, freight and equipment.
• Monitor workflow, resource use and equipment to support efficient execution.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, change control, and safety/regulatory policies.
• Lead safety observations and support safety initiatives.
• Support audits related to quality, safety and regulatory standards.
• Lead problem-solving for service issues and delays.
• Participate in continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen.
• Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and cost control.
• Respond to issues in real time to minimize disruption.
