Job summary

Carmel Partners in Long Beach is seeking a Senior Project Engineer - Multifamily Construction to assist the Project Manager in planning and execution of large multi-family developments. You will coordinate with design teams, manage submittals, and oversee quality control across multiple phases on the Long Beach Marina Shores project.

The role requires a degree in a related field, several years in residential/commercial construction, and proficiency with Procore and Bluebeam.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years’ experience in Commercial or Residential Construction preferred.
• 3+ years’ experience in Residential Construction Project Management.
• Extensive computer knowledge: Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office as well as construction and project management software (Procore and Bluebeam).
• Must pass a drug screen after a conditional offer of employment.
• Prior multifamily project experience.
• OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour training within the last 5 years.
• First Aid and CPR training within the last 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager with the planning and execution of the construction project(s).
• Support the project schedule as assigned by the Project Manager.
• Manage the procurement and submittal logs.
• Review submittals and shop drawings for conformance with the Contract Documents and manage approvals with the design team.
• Coordinate shop drawings, material interface, access, and routing with the Subcontractors and Design Team.
• Manage preparation of mock-ups for Owner approval.
• Support project quality control by inspecting work in progress and completed work to ensure conformance with the Contract Documents and Design Intent.
• Assist Superintendent with site logistics planning.
• Assist the Project Manager with developing scopes of work, bid package development, bid analysis, and quantity take-offs to support project buyout.
• Manage drawing and document issuance, including design updates as well as Requests for Information.
• Assist the Project Manager with Change Management.
• Manage project closeout and preparation of closeout documents.
• Manage consultant, city, and internal punch list correction.
