Job summary

Carmel Partners is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer - Multifamily Construction to support the Project Manager on the Long Beach Marina Shores project.

You will review development activities and perform day-to-day construction tasks, interfacing with executives and cross-functional teams. The role requires 4+ years in commercial or residential construction and 3+ years in residential PM, with on-site responsibilities in Long Beach, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, civil engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years’ experience in commercial or residential construction preferred.
• 3+ years’ experience in residential construction project management.
• Proficiency with Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Office software.
• Proficiency with Construction and Project management software (Procore, Bluebeam).
• OSHA 10/30-hour training within the last 5 years; First Aid and CPR within last 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager with planning and execution of construction projects.
• Support the project schedule as assigned by the Project Manager.
• Manage procurement and submittal logs.
• Review submittals and shop drawings for conformance with Contract Documents; manage approvals with design team.
• Coordinate shop drawings, material interface, access, and routing with Subcontractors and Design Team.
• Manage preparation of mock-ups for Owner approval.
• Support project quality control by inspecting work in progress and completed work for conformance.
• Assist Superintendent with site logistics planning.
• Assist PM with scope development, bid packages, bid analysis and quantity take-offs.
• Manage drawing and document issuance including design updates and RFIs.
• Assist PM with Change Management.
• Manage project closeout and closeout documents.
• Manage consultant, city, and internal punch list correction.
• Ensure all work complies with company policies and applicable laws (OSHA, ADA, etc.).
