Job summary

R-2 Contractors is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations for 250+ employees across several states from our Prineville, Oregon office. The role focuses on union payroll administration, prevailing wage reporting, and IRA compliance, ensuring accuracy and timely processing in a complex multi-state environment.

This onsite position offers a comprehensive benefits package, PTO, and a 401(k) match, with salary ranging from $75,000 to $130,000 DOE.

Qualifications

• Experience managing payroll across multiple states, preferably in civil construction or heavy industry.
• Knowledge of union payroll requirements, fringe reporting, and collective bargaining impacts.
• Experience with prevailing wage, Davis-Bacon and certified payroll reporting.
• Experience with payroll tax compliance, reconciliations, audits, and W-2 processing.
• Ability to lead payroll staff and partner with HR, accounting, and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage weekly payroll processing for 250+ employees across multiple states.
• Administer payroll under multiple union CBAs, wage rates, and fringe benefits.
• Oversee prevailing wage, Davis-Bacon, and certified payroll compliance.
• Ensure IRA-related wage reporting and apprenticeship requirements.
• Handle payroll tax filings, audits, garnishments, and year-end processing.
