Job summary

Anthropic is seeking an experienced Platform Portability engineer to design portable infrastructure and cloud-agnostic tooling, enabling efficient deployment across cloud providers. You’ll own delivery pipelines and collaborate with cloud partners to ensure consistent, secure operations.

You will mentor engineers, shape multi-cloud patterns, and contribute to incident response while advancing Anthropic’s frontier AI platform across clouds.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of practical experience building and operating production distributed systems.
• Experience running production workloads across multiple cloud providers.
• Understanding cloud IAM models and networking primitives across providers.
• Proficiency in at least one general-purpose language (Python, Go, or Rust).
• Experience with Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi).
• Ability to mentor engineers and align internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and build portable infrastructure abstractions for storage, messaging, and connectivity across clouds.
• Own delivery pipelines for multi-cloud projects from build to release and validation.
• Collaborate with cloud partners to implement native integrations and maintain platform consistency across providers.
• Review designs for cloud-portability implications and guide teams on multi-cloud patterns.
• Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to runbooks and incident response.
