Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Platform Engineer to own deployment pipelines and runtime configuration across a large fleet of services. You will shape end-to-end delivery from change to production, with a focus on safety, reliability, and fast rollouts.

You\'ll design APIs, implement rollback controls, and collaborate with security teams to ensure auditable builds and least-privilege access, while supporting multiple workloads from Kubernetes to serverless.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in at least one backend or systems programming language such as Rust, Go, C++, or Java.
• Experience leading design, building, and operation of distributed systems in production.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and containerized workloads (Kubernetes on AWS or GCP).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for major parts of the deployment platform end to end: design, implementation, operations.
• Build rollout safety into the platform, including progressive delivery, health-gated promotion, pause and rollback.
• Design APIs and abstractions for engineers and AI agents.
• Extend the platform to new workloads and runtimes, from Kubernetes to serverless and edge.
• Build and operate runtime configuration and feature flag systems with validation and fast rollback.
• Create infrastructure-as-code workflows used by multiple teams.
• Scale artifact distribution to reach machines quickly and efficiently.
• Collaborate with Security to ensure secure by default production paths with auditable changes.
• Work with teams across Anthropic to understand deployment needs and onboard workloads.
• Participate in on-call and incident response, turning learnings into guardrails.
