Job summary

Anthropic seeks an experienced backend and distributed systems engineer to join the Agentic Systems team. You will own end-to-end platform capabilities for Claude Managed Agents, including durable sessions, sandbox orchestration, and multi-tenant isolation.

Collaboration with product, research, and DX teams is essential. You will help evolve the harness, build eval infrastructures, and deliver scalable, reliable systems across Anthropic’s hosted and customer environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of practical backend or distributed systems experience.
• Experience with production-grade, long-running systems.
• Strong API design and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Comfort with ambiguity and shipping platform capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Scale and operate the Managed Agents platform, ensuring reliability and cost efficiency.
• Own API design, tooling, and operations end-to-end from design to deployment.
• Collaborate with product, research, DX, and go-to-market teams to define platform implications.
• Drive 0→1 projects through GA, turning ideas into shippable platform capabilities.
