Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking an MRO Repair Design Engineer to deliver repair and overhaul solutions for major airlines. The role drives quality, supply chain and manufacturing to design and approve innovative repairs for metallic and advanced composite components.

You'll work with shop maintenance, develop repair techniques that reduce costs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Experience with CAD tools and reading engineering drawings is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with 3D modeling software and reading engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of aircraft materials and fabrication/shop processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and substantiation of repairs and fabrication of repair parts for aircraft components.
• Communicate with customers, mechanics, and leaders to drive status updates.
• Resolve design problems with significant business impact.
• Provide technical support to production to meet requirements.
• Develop digital designs for metallic and composite parts using CAD tools.
• Develop processes for repair and restoration of components.
• Support QA and mechanics to ensure policy compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external customers.
• Create and improve standard work using lean principles.
