Job summary

RTX Collins Aerospace in Foley, AL is seeking an MRO Repair Design Engineer to design and substantiate repairs for aircraft components. You will lead digital design efforts and liaise with shop crews to implement innovative repair techniques.

The role requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of relevant experience and proficiency in 3D modeling tools like AutoCAD, CATIA, Creo, or SolidWorks. On-site work in Foley, AL with collaborative cross-functional teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) is typically required with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD, CATIA, Creo, or SolidWorks is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs and technical docs.
• Knowledge of aircraft materials and fabrication/shop processes is beneficial.
• Strong communication skills for internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Design and substantiate repairs and fabrication parts for aircraft components.
• Collaborate with customers, mechanics, and leaders to drive status updates.
• Resolve design problems independently with significant business impact.
• Provide technical support to production to meet customer requirements.
• Develop digital designs for metallic and composite parts using modeling tools.
• Create processes for repair and restoration of components.
• Support QA and shop staff to ensure policy and regulations compliance.
• Work with cross-functional teams and external customers to improve processes.
