Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to support in-service airline repairs from a design perspective.

You will develop high-quality repair solutions for metallic and non-metallic parts, collaborating with static stress and fatigue teams to satisfy airworthiness and customer needs. The role involves research across aircraft configurations using multiple tools, balanced with delivering timely, certified repair plans for airlines/MROs.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering with strong emphasis on structural design and material mechanics.
• 9+ years total experience in design with airframe structures.
• Experience in composite airframe structures.
• MRO/Fleet Engineering experience; MRB Experience.
• Capable of solving technical problems using established principles.
• Able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Independently create high quality integrated and certified engineering repair solutions to return aircraft to airworthy condition.
• Review and interpret damage reports to develop repair solutions; create/modify repair tasks.
• Collaborate with F&DT, Stress and other Airbus departments to optimize design solutions.
• Apply extensive technical expertise and knowledge of related disciplines.
• Obtain Repair Approval Technical Signatory and use Repair Solution Signatory effectively.
