Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to own mechanical design activities across concepts to production. You will use SolidWorks and ANSYS Workbench for robust designs and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet customer, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.

Role emphasizes DFM, FMEA, and lifecycle support, including MRO concepts and maintaining engineering documentation. Onsite, with extensive collaboration across IPTs, to shape aerospace products.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) required by local laws/regulations.
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Without a degree, 9 years relevant experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Design and review mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks, balancing performance, cost, manufacturability, safety, and quality.
• Perform thermal and structural analyses with ANSYS Workbench to support decisions.
• Develop technical documentation and participate in design reviews across lifecycle stages.
• Collaborate with IPTs to deliver cost‑effective, high‑quality designs meeting customer needs.
