Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Sr. Movable Bridge Engineer to lead electrical design for rehabilitation and new movable bridge projects across the US and Canada. The role requires extensive experience, PE licensure, and strong communication skills.

You will guide design teams, oversee inspections, and develop technical documentation with CAD tools. The final candidate can be located near any Jacobs office in the US, with a hybrid work policy and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering (ABET-EAC Accredited Degree).
• Professional Engineer (PE) in the US.
• 15+ years of experience in movable bridge Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with movable bridge electrical design and rehabilitation.
• CAD software experience: AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Movable Bridge Design Specifications & AREMA.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on movable bridge projects.
• Perform inspections and develop rehabilitation strategies.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, design calculations, reports, and cost estimates.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with the project team.
• Develop technical reports and client communications.
