Job summary

Blue Origin in Washington state is seeking a Senior Motor Control Avionics Engineer to own the technical baseline for embedded motor controllers used across lunar and space vehicle mechanisms. You will lead architecture, interfaces, verification, and lifecycle documentation while working hands-on in lab bring-up and fault diagnosis.

Qualifications

• B.S. in electrical, aerospace, mechanical, computer engineering, or related technical field.
• Significant experience delivering motor control or motor drive systems for electromechanical actuators.
• Experience with embedded control electronics in safety-critical, high-reliability environments.
• Experience owning or leading a technical baseline with requirements, interfaces, verification, and documentation.
• Hands-on lab experience with bring-up, integration, test, and verification of embedded electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical baseline for a family of embedded motor controllers across requirements, architecture, interfaces, verification, and lifecycle docs.
• Define reusable motor controller architectures for multiple mechanisms, vehicles, and mission use cases.
• Collaborate with vehicle and subsystem teams to understand mission needs and requirements.
• Develop controller solutions across embedded processing, sensing, power electronics, interfaces, and firmware.
• Work in the lab with controller hardware for bench bring-up, checkout, integration, and fault investigation.
