Blue Origin in the United States is seeking a Senior Motor Controls Lead Engineer for the Core Avionics team to own the technical baseline for embedded motor controllers used across lunar vehicles and mechanisms. You will lead requirements, architecture, interfaces, verification, and lifecycle documentation while bringing up hardware in the lab.

Qualifications

• BS in a relevant technical field.
• Significant experience with motor control or motor drive systems.
• Experience with embedded control electronics in safety‑critical environments.
• Experience owning or leading a technical baseline and documentation.
• Experience anchoring plant models and verifying control performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead controls engineering for embedded motor controllers across multiple mechanisms and missions.
• Define reusable motor control architectures for various vehicles and use cases.
• Collaborate with vehicle teams to define performance, safety, and integration requirements.
• Develop control solutions for lunar valves, latches, pumps, fans, and blowers.
• Work from lab bring‑up through verification and qualification of hardware and software.
