Job summary

Blue Origin in Washington state is seeking a Senior Motor Control Avionics Engineer to own the baseline for embedded motor controllers used across Lunar Permanence programs. You will design, bring up, test, and qualify controller hardware and firmware for high-reliability applications such as gimbals, valves, and deployable mechanisms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, aerospace, mechanical, or computer engineering or related field.
• Significant experience delivering motor control systems for electromechanical actuators.
• Experience with embedded control electronics in safety-critical environments.
• Experience owning a technical baseline including requirements, interfaces, and verification planning.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical baseline for embedded motor controllers across multiple vehicles and mechanisms.
• Define reusable motor controller architectures for multiple mechanisms and missions.
• Collaborate with vehicle and subsystem teams to define performance, safety, and integration requirements.
• Develop controller solutions spanning embedded processing, sensing, power electronics, and firmware for motor technologies.
• Lead a multi-disciplinary team through design, build, verification, and production transition.
• Drive fault-tolerant control strategies and health telemetry.
