Job summary

Alpaca is seeking a Senior Cashiering Operations Associate to own client money movement across ACH, domestic and international wires, RTP, checks, and internal journals. This role ensures timely, accurate, and compliant cash processing with a strong focus on controls in a fast-paced fintech environment.

You will partner with custodians and banking partners, strengthen operational controls, reconcile movements, and support audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years in financial services, brokerage ops, banking, or cashiering.
• Direct experience processing money movements (ACH, wires, checks, journals).
• Experience with custodians, clearing firms, or correspondent banks.
• Strong operational risk controls and attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Own client money movement workflows (ACH, wires, RTP, checks, journals).
• Ensure timely, accurate cash processing and compliance with policies.
• Strengthen controls and reduce risk; partner with custodians and banking partners.
• Reconcile daily cash movements and settlement activity.
• Prepare operational reports and document in Salesforce; monitor for discrepancies.
• Identify operational risks and escalate high-risk transactions as needed.
• Support audits and cross-functional process improvements; contribute to SOPs.
• Train internal teams and coach on cashiering workflows.
