Job summary

Alpaca, a US-headquartered fintech, seeks a Senior Cashiering Operations Associate to own client money movement across ACH, wires, RTP, checks, and journals. You will ensure timely, accurate, and compliant cash processing while strengthening controls, reducing risk, and driving process quality in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires deep money-movement expertise, a control-first mindset, and strong ownership of outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in financial services, brokerage operations, banking, or cashiering.
• Direct experience processing money movements (ACH, wires, checks, journals, RTP preferred).
• Experience interacting with custodians, clearing firms, or correspondent banks.
• Strong command of operational risk and fraud controls.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Clear, confident written and verbal communication with internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and elevate issues with context and recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Own money movement controls across ACH, wires, RTP, checks, and journals.
• Review, validate, and approve client money movement requests.
• Process and release transactions within SLAs.
• Reconcile daily cash movements, deposits, and settlement activity.
• Monitor and resolve exceptions, returns, rejects, and discrepancies.
• Serve as primary operational contact for custodians and banking partners.
• Prepare and review daily and monthly operational reports.
