Job summary

CLA is seeking a Lead Modern Workplace SharePoint Engineer to drive architecture, governance, and modernization of SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 at CLA in Minnesota. You will partner with Enterprise Architecture, Security, and business units to deliver scalable collaboration solutions across the firm.

Qualifications

• 6 years relevant experience required.
• 8 years of SharePoint and Microsoft 365 engineering experience preferred.
• 5+ years of SharePoint Online experience preferred.
• Experience leading enterprise-scale Microsoft 365 implementations and migrations preferred.
• Experience developing governance, information architecture, and content management strategies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of SharePoint Online across the enterprise.
• Serve as the primary technical authority for SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Teams integrations, and Microsoft 365 collaboration services.
• Develop and maintain governance frameworks, site provisioning standards, content lifecycle policies, information architecture, and metadata strategies.
• Lead intranet, portal, document management, knowledge management, and collaboration platform initiatives.
• Design and implement scalable content management solutions supporting business operations, employee experience, and client engagement.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate requirements into Microsoft 365 solutions and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
• Drive SharePoint modernization including migrations from legacy platforms and on-premises environments.
• Lead integration of SharePoint with Power Platform, Copilot, Viva, ServiceNow, CRM systems, and other apps.
• Design, develop, and maintain Power Automate workflows, Power Apps, and automated processes leveraging SharePoint.
• Establish and maintain governance, retention, records management, and compliance with Risk/Legal/Security.
• Collaborate with security teams on permissions models, data protection, and compliance.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, administrators, and project teams.
• Lead platform health, capacity planning, performance optimization, and operational support.
• Drive application lifecycle management including testing, deployment, and release management.
• Evaluate emerging Microsoft 365 technologies and provide strategic recommendations.
• Develop technical standards, reference architectures, procedures, and documentation.
• Support strategic initiatives involving data rooms, client portals, and digital workplace transformation.
