Job summary

Cox Fleet in Overland Park, KS is hiring a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician to perform licensed DOT inspections, PMs, and advanced repairs on light to heavy trucks in a mobile/field setting. The role requires strong diagnostic skills and the ability to triage complex repairs on-site.

The technician will lead on jobsites, communicate with customers, and manage parts and paperwork, ensuring compliance with DOT and safety standards. This position includes a five-day schedule that covers weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 3 years’ related field experience, or 5 years in related field.
• 3+ years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Own set of hand tools required and able to pass DOT/FMCSA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and hydraulic systems on trucks.
• Road test vehicles and document findings on RO via iOS TRAIT app.
• Manage parts inventory and communicate approvals for repair estimates.
• Operate company vehicle safely and comply with OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
