Cox Automotive (Cox Enterprises affiliate) in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Sr Mobile Diesel Technician to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on trucking equipment. The role requires strong mechanical skills and ASE certifications, with a path to advanced technician duties.

You will operate a company service vehicle, manage parts, and coordinate with clients while adhering to OSHA/EPA/DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 5–7 years in related field.
• ASE T6, A8, L1 certifications preferred.
• Current and valid DOT medical card with required validity.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment (electrical, brakes, cooling, engines, transmissions).
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck systems using specialized tools and test instruments.
• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using handheld devices and gauges.
• Manage parts inventory and a company-issued service truck; reconcile stock periodically.
• Maintain and operate service vehicle; conduct safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections.
• Collaborate with clients to assess needs, provide information, and resolve issues.
• Use hand tools, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts and jacks; document RO findings via TRAIT app.
• Obtain parts from approved vendors to complete repairs.
• Communicate with management for approvals and discuss RO findings.
• Perform all work in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT policies.
• Ensure company truck is maintained and safety checks are conducted.
• Determine appropriate tools and equipment required.
