Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II- DOT to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs in the field. You’ll operate a company service truck and utilize telematics while working a Monday–Friday day shift.

Ideal candidates enjoy problem solving, have ASE goals, and are comfortable working independently in a mobile environment across fleets nationwide.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED with 3 years in a related field or 5 years without a degree.
• Personal set of hand tools to perform duties.
• Ability to obtain ASE certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months of employment.
• DOT/FMCSA pre-employment background screening and DOT physical after hire.
• 21+ years old and valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide mobile service and maintenance for light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems.
• Use diagnostic tools and handheld devices to document work and parts.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and safety.
• Manage parts and inventory for service truck and telematics unit.
