Cox Automotive in Cheyenne, WY is seeking a Sr Mobile Diesel Technician (DOT) to perform licensed inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced repairs on heavy, medium, and light vehicles in mobile/field settings.

You will lead diagnostic work, manage parts and documentation using TRAIT app, and ensure safety compliance under DOT and OSHA rules. This role requires 100% travel and a strong focus on reliability, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Broad experience with DOT inspections and PM on trucks in field settings.
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills for electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to document work clearly for repairs and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems.
• Road test vehicles to confirm repairs and ensure proper operation.
• Maintain and reconcile parts inventory on service truck and upload RO details via TRAIT app.
• Communicate with customers and management to obtain estimates and approvals.
