Job summary

Summit Exercises & Training is seeking a Senior Subject Matter Expert for the Mobile Deployment Detection Unit (MDDU) to lead location-specific operations and surge support for federal and state partners and first responders. The role emphasizes radiological/nuclear detection instrumentation, program planning, and high-availability deployments.

Qualifications

• 10 years of relevant experience in R/N detection training and supporting preventive R/N detection mission operations at special events or during steady state operations where R/N detection is regularly employed.
• Knowledgeable in using equipment: PRD, RIID, Mobile Radiation Detection Systems.
• Experience with DHS CWMD Fleet requirements.
• Travel between 50 to 75 percent of the month within the contiguous United States and US territories.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, organize and report on all MDDU program planning and management taskings.
• Deploy MDDU equipment when needed, transporting detection equipment via towable trailer.
• Coordinate, initiate and track deployments of the assigned MDDU(s) or equipment.
• Ensure MDDU equipment is repaired, calibrated, and maintained for deployment 24/7.
• Provide coverage during standard and non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Provide just-in-time training on MDDU deployed equipment to stakeholders at events.
• Ensure completion of After-Action Reports (AAR) after deployments.
• Assist with scheduling off-site staff to support surge deployments.
• Provide status updates to DHS CWMD MDDU PM.
