Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to design and build AI-powered systems that connect Help Center, chatbots, and agent workflows. You will help power multi-agent platforms with security, compliance, and scale while collaborating with CX, design, and engineering teams.

You will contribute to end-to-end ML initiatives, optimize AI-driven experiences, and mentor teammates on modern ML development workflows. The role emphasizes responsible AI use and human oversight.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in machine learning and software engineering.
• Hands-on with large language models and generative AI ecosystems with production experience.
• Proficiency in Python for production ML code and testing.
• Specialized depth in NLP, information retrieval, conversational AI, or advanced statistical modeling.
• Ability to write technical design documents and communicate complex ML concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy the multi-agent framework for agent assist, SOP execution, and secure LLM-powered actions.
• Own end-to-end project execution for complex ML initiatives with cross-functional teams.
• Build and optimize AI-driven concierge chat and agent copilot experiences.
• Develop systems to detect bad actors and adversarial inputs, ensuring safety at scale.
• Establish best practices for system design and ML development workflows; mentor peers.
