Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for the CX Intelligence Engineering team. You will design and build AI-powered systems that power Coinbase Help Center, chatbots, and agent workflows, driving CX automation and secure actions at scale.

You will lead end-to-end ML initiatives, optimize agent copilot experiences, and ensure responsible AI usage with human oversight, while collaborating with CX, product, and engineering partners.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in machine learning and software engineering.
• Hands-on with large language models and generative AI ecosystems.
• Proficiency in Python for production ML.
• Domain depth in NLP, information retrieval, or conversational AI.
• Ability to write technical design docs and communicate with non-technical stakeholders.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy the multi-agent framework for agent assist and secure LLM-powered actions.
• Own end-to-end execution for complex ML initiatives from design to production.
• Build and optimize AI-driven concierge chat and agent copilot experiences.
• Develop systems to detect bad actors and ensure safety at scale.
• Establish design standards and mentor engineers on ML workflows.
