Job summary

Vast in Long Beach is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Mission Software to help design and build software for space station systems. You will work with aerospace and tech peers on frontends, backends, and data pipelines.

You will influence software practices to scale a large codebase, with opportunities to grow skills across languages, DevOps, and APIs, in a fast-moving space environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, or other engineering discipline.
• 6+ years of software development or relevant industry experience.
• Experience building, shipping, and supporting complex, data-intensive full-stack software applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement web applications using modern frontends and application servers, consuming APIs and micro-services.
• Design and implement backends including data modeling, APIs, and supporting pipelines.
• Rapidly iterate on tooling and design new applications as the company grows.
• Influence and adopt software practices and patterns that scale to a large codebase and team.
