Job summary

Vast is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Mission Software, to help build the systems for Haven Station hardware and software integration. This on-site role is based in Long Beach, CA, reporting to the Senior Manager, Mission Software.

You will design, develop, and operate full-stack software across frontend and backend, with a focus on scalable architectures and time-series data processing. You will collaborate with aerospace and tech experts, use Docker/Kubernetes, and contribute to API

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, or other engineering discipline.
• 6+ years of software development or relevant industry experience.
• Experience building, shipping, and supporting complex, data-intensive full-stack software applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement web applications using modern frontends and application servers, consuming APIs and micro-services.
• Design and implement backends including data modeling, APIs, and supporting pipelines.
• Rapidly iterate on tooling and design new applications as the company grows.
• Influence and adopt software practices and patterns that will scale to a very large codebase and team.
