Job summary

Vast is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for Enterprise Applications in Long Beach. You will join a team developing web and backend systems to support the design and build of space-station software, collaborating with mentorship from aerospace and tech veterans.

This full-time, exempt role reports to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Applications. Responsibilities include designing webfronts and backends, API integration, data modeling, and building scalable pipelines for a growing codebase.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, an engineering discipline, or equivalent work experience
• 6+ years of software development or relevant industry experience
• Experience building, shipping, and supporting complex, data-intensive full-stack software applications

Responsibilities

• Design and implement web applications using modern frontends and application servers that consume APIs and micro-services in a heterogeneous environment
• Design and implement backends including data modeling, APIs, and supporting pipelines
• Rapidly iterate on tooling and design new applications as the company grows
• Influence and adopt software practices and patterns that will scale to a large codebase and team
