Job summary

Vast, headquartered in Long Beach, California, is building next-generation space stations and infrastructure. A Staff Software Engineer, reporting to the Senior Software Manager, will support software for design, test, command, and monitoring of Vast spacecraft.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or STEM, or 9+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience writing and securing REST APIs.
• Experience with database design, implementation, and security.

Responsibilities

• Develop new and optimize existing software codebases used to test, command, and monitor spacecraft systems.
• Mentor junior ground software engineers to build a strong team.
• Own the lifecycle of software from deployment to operations and end-user support.
• Configure and optimize automated testing and deployment systems.
• Maintain and upgrade ground systems that communicate with spacecraft.
