Job summary

STR in Arlington, VA is seeking a Principal Mission Engineer (Full Stack) to design, develop, and deploy software for DoD/IC missions in high-security environments. You should have expert full-stack capabilities (React, TypeScript, Python), DoD mission deployment experience, and an active U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Active U.S. Security Clearance.
• BS in Computer Science or related field with 8+ years of work experience.
• Experience deploying software for DoD or IC missions.
• High sense of ownership and track record of delivering high impact work.
• Strong ability to communicate to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Build Prototype Capabilities: break down use cases and user problems to MVP and evolve into a cohesive app.
• Rapidly Scale Applications: advance development, add workflows, improve scalability, address new pain points.
• Develop and Enhance Features: create fast, intuitive frontend experiences for complex use cases.
• System Integration: lead cross-functional teams to design, build, and deploy a cohesive system.
• Customer Collaboration: work with end-users and government operators to translate requirements into software features.
• Deployment and Field Testing: travel to integration sites to deploy, test, and triage in secure environments.
