Job summary

STR seeks a Mission Engineer (Full Stack) to lead software teams delivering mission-critical applications in high-security environments. You will design, develop, and deploy full-stack solutions with React, TypeScript, and Python, while collaborating closely with DoD customers to translate needs into robust features.

You will manage cross-functional teams, ensure performance and reliability, and travel to customer sites for deployment and testing.

Qualifications

Active Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret level with SCI Eligibility.
BS in Computer Science or related technical field with at least 7 years of work experience.
Experience deploying software for DoD or IC missions.
A passion for crafting user-centric interfaces and a keen eye for design details.
Demonstrated strong knowledge of modern technologies such as React, TypeScript, and Python.
Demonstrated ability to adopt new languages, libraries, and technologies.

Responsibilities

Build Prototype Capabilities: break down use cases, build MVPs, and evolve into cohesive applications.
Develop and Enhance Features: create high-performance frontend solutions that are fast and intuitive under load.
System Integration: lead cross-functional teams to design, build, and deploy cohesive systems.
Customer Collaboration: work with end-users, often military or government operators, to translate requirements into features.
Deployment and Field Testing: travel to integration sites to deploy, test, and triage software in secure environments; travel typically ≤ one week per month.
