Job summary

STR is seeking a Principal Mission Engineer (Full Stack) to develop and deploy software for high-security DoD missions. You will lead cross-functional teams, design, implement, and integrate frontend and backend features in secure environments, and drive mission-critical software from prototype to production.

Required: U.S. citizenship, active security clearance, 8+ years of CS experience, and expert knowledge of React, TypeScript, and Python.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Experience deploying software for DoD or IC missions.
• Expertise with modern frameworks and full stack development.

Responsibilities

• Build prototype capabilities by breaking down use cases and delivering an MVP.
• Scale applications by adding workflows, increasing performance and addressing customer pain points.
• Develop and enhance frontend and backend features for fast, responsive UIs.
• Lead cross-functional engineering teams to design, build, and deploy integrated systems.
• Collaborate with customers, often military/government operators, to translate needs into software features.
• Deploy and test software at customer sites, with travel up to one week per month.
