Job summary

STR, a growing defense/tech company, seeks a Mission Engineer (Full Stack) in the Mission Applications Group to deliver software for DoD missions. You will lead teams, design, develop, and deploy high-security applications with React, TypeScript, and Python, balancing reliability and performance in operational settings.

You will collaborate with customers, travel to integration sites, and ensure products meet demanding security and mission requirements.

Qualifications

BS in CS or related field; 7+ years preferred.
Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret (SCI eligibility).
Experience deploying software for DoD or IC missions.
Proven leadership of software teams and customer relationships.
Strong knowledge of modern technologies (React, TypeScript, Python).

Responsibilities

Build prototype capabilities from user problems; create MVPs and evolve into cohesive applications.
Develop and enhance frontend features; ensure fast, smooth UI under heavy load.
Lead cross-functional engineering teams to design, deploy cohesive systems; integrate capabilities.
Collaborate with end-users and government operators to translate requirements into features.
Travel to integration sites to deploy, test, and triage software in secure environments; ~1 week per month.
