Job summary

STR in Arlington, VA is seeking a Mission Engineer (Full Stack) to develop and deploy software for high-security DoD missions. You will lead software teams, design, and maintain systems deployed in operational use, with expertise in modern frameworks and API integration.

You will collaborate with government operators, manage customer relationships, and ensure performance, reliability, and usability in demanding environments.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret with SCI Eligibility.
• BS in Computer Science or related technical field with at least 7 years of work experience.
• Experience deploying software for DoD or IC missions.
• Strong UI/UX focus with React, TypeScript, and Python.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communicator to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Build MVPs by breaking down use cases and rapidly evolving a solution into a cohesive application.
• Develop high-performance frontend features for complex use cases, ensuring fast, smooth UX.
• Lead cross-functional engineering teams to design, deploy integrated systems.
• Collaborate with customers, many military or Government operators, to translate requirements into features.
• Travel to integration sites for deployment, testing, and field triage; average travel not exceeding one week per month.
