Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to lead and grow the water resources practice within the Mining, Minerals and Metals business line. The role focuses on mentoring the team, engaging with clients globally, and delivering high-quality projects across multiple locations including Phoenix.

The successful candidate will manage multi-disciplinary mining projects, provide senior technical review, and guide project success while aligning with client needs and company standards.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of relevant increasingly responsible experience.
• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in civil, environmental or water resources engineering with emphasis in water management.
• Experience leading and developing teams and people in successful project execution.
• Subject matter expert in mine water management.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer is preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead and/or advise on technical aspects of mining and mining infrastructure projects, business development, and proposal activities.
• Develop and execute the water resources team’s technical practice and maintain quality standards.
• Provide technical expertise and lead technical delivery on a variety of projects for clients.
• Establish and grow productive relationships internally and externally with priority clients.
• Participate in all phases of project management including budgeting, planning, design, construction, and closure.
• Lead, coach, and mentor technical staff to foster growth and high performance.
• Follow safe work practices and company guidelines and policies.
• Support Stantec’s brand awareness through thought leadership and stakeholder engagement.
• Understand and apply CERCLA and RCRA processes for environmental projects.
