Job summary

SLR Consulting (Americas) seeks a senior Principal Mine Permitting & NEPA Consultant to guide high-profile mining projects in Arizona and the Southwest, delivering regulatory strategy and engagement with regulators and stakeholders.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, mentor staff, win business, and ensure compliance with U.S. federal and state rules, while growing SLR’s mining practice in the region. This is a full-time, permanent role offering strong growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years’ experience with permitting, compliance, and NEPA in the mining sector, including leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
• Strong consulting experience with proven ability to manage client relationships and grow business opportunities.
• Experience delivering regulatory support to mining clients and navigating US federal/state regulations.
• Established reputation with credible regulatory engagement, client relationships, and industry involvement.
• Ability to lead, mentor and inspire technical teams and communicate at executive level.

Responsibilities

• Lead consulting projects for mining clients and guide major natural resource projects to successful approval.
• Mentor, coach, and develop senior and junior staff across disciplines.
• Drive business development and client relationship management in the mining sector.
• Represent SLR in regulatory hearings, industry associations, and public forums.
• Provide high-level project management oversight including scope, schedule, and budget.
