The role carries ultimate responsibility for safe, efficient, and profitable extraction of resources and leadership of all mine operations including planning, production, HSE, and community relations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive management in large-scale mining.
• Proven track record in complex mining operations and targets.
• Knowledge of mining methods, equipment, safety, and environmental regs.
• Strong leadership, communication and budgeting skills.
• Experience in financial management, budgeting and cost control.
• Stakeholder relationship management experience.
• Professional registration (e.g., Pr.Eng, Mine Manager's Certificate) essential.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Willingness to reside near Queenstown, ZA and work extended hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily mine operations with safety, efficiency and productivity in mind.
• Develop and implement strategic operational plans aligned with objectives and market demands.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Manage budgets, control costs and optimize resource allocation for profitability.
• Lead and develop a diverse operations team toward high performance.
• Collaborate with geology, engineering and maintenance for planning and execution.
• Manage stakeholder relationships with government, communities and suppliers.
• Drive operational excellence through technology adoption and optimization.
• Monitor KPIs and take corrective actions to meet targets.
• Ensure asset management and maintenance strategies for gear and infrastructure.
• Represent the mine in senior management discussions and strategic input.
