Placements24 is assisting a mining group in seeking a Mineral Processing Superintendent to lead the processing plant in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. This senior role focuses on safety, efficiency, and optimal recovery of valuable commodities.

The candidate will oversee comminution, flotation, gravity separation, and water management, directing a multidisciplinary team while driving continuous improvement and ensuring regulatory compliance across the operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in metallurgy, chemical engineering, mineral processing or related field.
• Master's degree or professional certifications are advantageous.
• Minimum 10 years in mineral processing with 5+ years in supervision/management.

Responsabilités

• Oversee daily operations of mineral processing plant ensuring targets and safety.
• Lead and develop metallurgists, engineers, technicians, and operators.
• Drive continuous improvement to optimize recovery and reduce costs.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and community standards.
• Monitor performance data and develop improvement strategies.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering and geology teams.
• Manage budgets, expenditures, and financial reporting.
• Champion adoption of new technologies and best practices.
