Job summary

CA Global seeks an experienced Open Cast Mine Manager to lead surface mining operations, ensuring safe, efficient production aligned with corporate objectives. The incumbent will manage all operational, technical, and compliance aspects of the open pit mine to meet targets while upholding safety and environmental standards.

The role requires a Mine Manager’s certificate, a minimum of 10 years in open cast mining, and strong leadership, budgeting, and planning capabilities to drive performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mining Engineering or related field.
• Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency (Open Cast / Surface) or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years’ open cast mining experience with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
• Strong knowledge of surface mining methods, mine planning, drilling and blasting, and fleet management.

Responsibilities

• Direct open cast mining operations including drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, and waste management.
• Develop production plans and long-term mining strategies and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with mining legislation, health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Lead the planning, geology, engineering and maintenance teams to meet production and cost targets.
• Maintain adherence to mine standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Lead safety audits, performance reviews and inspections; drive continuous improvement.
