Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti North America seeks a Manager of Mine Operations to lead the transition from commissioning to full-scale open-pit mining. You will direct loading, drilling, hauling, and waste removal to meet plans and budgets while upholding a zero-harm safety culture.

You will collaborate with maintenance, planning, and engineering, embedding short-interval controls and fleet optimization. A minimum of 10 years in mining is required, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering, Operations Management, or related discipline required.
• Minimum 10+ years in mining operations or heavy industrial environments with safe operations leadership.
• Proven background managing full production cycle (drilling, blasting, loading, hauling).
• Experience leading operations through commissioning, startup, ramp-up, and commercial production.
• Extensive knowledge of MSHA standards and compliance for surface mining.

Responsibilities

• Lead the transition from project commissioning and startup to full-scale open-pit mining operations.
• Direct all open-pit mining activities to align with mine plans and production forecasts.
• Oversee contractor blasting operations ensuring safety and production targets.
