Job summary

SCIEX in Marlborough, MA seeks a Staff Scientist in the Center of Excellence for Metabolomics & Lipidomics to lead customer-facing analytical demonstrations using LC-MS platforms and to develop reproducible methods, SOPs, benchmarks and reference data.

You will provide scientific leadership to global field teams, translate customer evaluations into product feedback, and collaborate with Commercial, Product Management, R&D and Quality teams. Domestic and international travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in analytical chemistry, chemistry, biochemistry, life sciences, or a related scientific discipline with 15+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 8+ years; or a PhD with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with LC-MS workflows for metabolomics, lipidomics, and quantitative small molecule analysis across diverse matrices.
• Experience planning and delivering customer-facing demonstrations using experimental data.
• Experience authoring controlled technical documentation (SOPs, protocols, validation summaries).
• Ability to work with cross-geo stakeholders to translate findings into product requirements and technical recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Execute advanced omics customer-sample demonstrations on SCIEX MS platforms tailored to customer needs.
• Develop, validate and maintain analytical methods, SOPs, benchmarks and reference data.
• Establish demonstration-readiness standards including workflows, configurations, data quality and acceptance criteria.
• Provide scientific leadership to global field teams and regional labs through coaching and troubleshooting.
• Design and execute external evaluations and collaborations translating findings into new capabilities and requirements.
