Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Senior MEP Project Manager to lead planning, management, and execution of data center projects, ensuring profitability and alignment with owner expectations.

The role requires developing the PMP, coordinating with estimators and procurement, controlling costs and schedule, ensuring QA/QC, and close-out activities, with strong negotiation and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of six or more years project management experience within Data Center Construction.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial construction processes.
• Understanding estimating concepts to verify bids and manage change orders.
• Knowledge of building codes and design requirements as necessary for the project.
• Professional affiliation (e.g., PE) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation of estimates for the project.
• Prepares project budgets and unit cost reports.
• Leads the project team in preparing the PMP.
• Negotiates owner and subcontractor change orders and manages cost/profit impact.
• Develops the monthly client pay requests and follows up on collection.
• Coordinates all final close out procedures for the project.
• Interacts with Estimating to provide project cost information.
• Directs organization and preparation of all project documents for storage.
