Job summary

Suffolk Construction is seeking a seasoned MEP Project Manager to lead mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection coordination across complex projects. You will manage sub-contractors, review MEP submittals, and ensure on-time completion with BIM/VDC collaboration and field oversight.

The role requires strong drawing interpretation skills, familiarity with building codes, and a track record in commissioning and balancing practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Engineering or equivalent (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Fire protection)
• 10+ years of experience with MEP systems
• 5+ years of project management experience
• Strong computer skills: MS Excel, Word, Outlook
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
• Knowledge of BIM/VDC coordination and related tools
• Knowledge of local, state, and international building codes (ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA, LEED)
• Extensive knowledge of testing, balancing and commissioning practices
• Ability to make quick, accurate decisions and communicate at all levels

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical bid tabs and contract Exhibit B
• Interview and select sub-contractors for projects
• Manage day-to-day MEP sub-contractors on site
• Review and approve MEP monthly requisitions
• Review and approve MEP change orders
• Conduct site walks and update schedules
• Coordinate with BIM/VDC and Superintendents for on-schedule work
• Develop solutions with A/E for coordination items
• Review all MEP submittals and communicate with stakeholders
• Obtain AHJ approvals and coordinate with Owner for turnover
