Job summary

Suffolk Construction is seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager in Miami, FL. This role oversees mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection resources from bid to closeout, coordinating subcontractors, submittals, requisitions and change orders while aligning with the project schedule.

You will interface with BIM/VDC, A/E teams, and on-site managers to ensure successful coordination, quality, and safety across diverse projects in healthcare, education, and commercial sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical or Fire Protection.
• 5+ years of experience with Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems.
• 2+ years of project management experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of BIM/VDC coordination.
• Knowledge of local, city and state building codes.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA and LEED requirements.
• Strong communication and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical bid tabs and exhibit B in contract.
• Interview and select sub-contractors for each project.
• Manage day-to-day MEP sub-contractors.
• Review and approve MEP monthly requisitions.
• Review and approve MEP change orders.
• Conduct site walks and update schedules.
• Coordinate with BIM/VDC and Supervisors for schedule alignment.
• Collaborate with A/E to resolve coordination items.
• Review and approve MEP submittals.
• Obtain documentation from inspections and testing.
• Oversee MEP & FP contractors and commissioning agent.
• Coordinate with owner third-party MEP contractors or testing agencies.
• Obtain closeout documentation (as-builts, attic stock, O&Ms).
• Coordinate multi-trade portions (curtain wall with electrical/door hardware).
• Develop equipment delivery logs and prioritize long-lead items.
• Attend owner, subcontractor, and coordination meetings.
• Ensure AHJs approvals/sign-offs.
