Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Senior MEP Project Manager I to lead a Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing project, ensuring quality, safety and on‑time delivery while mentoring the project team.

You will manage budgets, oversee subcontractors, direct 3‑D coordination and commissioning, and drive successful project closeout with manuals and training.

This onsite role requires up to 100% travel, a related Bachelor's degree, and 8+ years of construction management experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field experience.
• Minimum eight years construction management experience, preferably with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor.
• Basic understanding of construction law and business practices.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.
• Current driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall project financial health, including projections, budgeting, and invoicing.
• Oversee subcontractor and supplier selections, billings, and contract management.
• Direct 3-D coordination and commissioning processes, ensuring conflict resolution and testing.
• Lead project closeout activities, including manuals, model turnover, and training.
• Supervise and develop Assistant Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s).
• Serve as main contact for owner, resolving site concerns and building relationships.
• Manage change orders and obtain necessary approvals.
• Ensure quality, risk, safety, and compliance throughout the project.
