Suffolk Construction in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior MEP Project Manager to lead mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection coordination across the full project lifecycle. You will manage subcontractors, review bids, submittals, change orders, and ensure safety and on-time delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in MEP systems with PM experience, strong BIM/VDC coordination skills, and a track record of cross-disciplinary collaboration with A/E teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and Fire protection.
• 10+ years experience with Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection Systems.
• 5+ years of project management experience.
• Strong computer skills: MS Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Ability to read and comprehend drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of BIM/VDC coordination and hit detection programs.
• Knowledge of local, city, state and international building codes.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA and LEED requirements.
• Experience in testing, balancing and commissioning practices.
• Decision making and clear communication at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical bid tabs and Exhibit B in contracts.
• Interview and select sub-contractors for each project.
• Manage day-to-day MEP sub-contractors.
• Review and approve MEP monthly requisitions.
• Review and approve MEP change orders.
• Conduct site walks and update schedules.
• Coordinate with BIM/VDC and Superintendent for schedule alignment.
• Collaborate with A/E to resolve coordination items.
• Review all MEP submittals.
• Obtain documentation from inspections and testing.
• Oversee MEP & FP contractors and commissioning agent.
• Coordinate with Owner third-party MEP contractors or testing agencies.
• Obtain mechanical close-out documentation and as-builts.
• Coordinate multi-trade interfaces (e.g., curtain wall with electrical).
• Develop and monitor equipment delivery logs; prioritize long-lead items.
• Attend weekly owner, subcontractor, and coordination meetings.
